What Is Omega® Technology?
A unique design of profiling the inside of the tubes, enhances the thermal performance of the tube using standard reforming catalyst. This application is retrofittable for all steam reformer designs and is reversible. Combining OMEGA® technology with all Paralloy Group’s alloys. H39WM, & H39WMR range of microalloy alloys, giving a synergistic offering, with much improved and superior properties adds to the overall improved performance. Using OMEGA® technology tubes allows existing users to have many more options for improvement.

How Does Omega Improve Tube Efficiency?
Using Omega technology delivers several operational advantages for reformer performance and plant efficiency. Lower tube metal temperatures help extend tube life while improving safety margins. Plants can also achieve about a 2% reduction in fuel consumption, lowering operating costs. Increased gas flow capacity enables more than a 10% rise in product output. The design also allows the use of more reactive catalysts, improving product yield. In addition, the possibility of a new reformer tube design allows shorter tubes, simplifying configuration and supporting heat transfer.
