Paralloy’s roots go back to the early 20th century as a UK metallurgical business. The company was incorporated in 1931 and the Billingham foundry site opened in 1967. In the beginning, the business specialised in high-temperature stainless steel and nickel alloy castings. The company was built to serve demanding industrial processes and supplied high-integrity cast components for chemical plants, power generation and heavy industry where heat-resistant alloys and precision castings are essential.
The companies started out with the purpose of transforming raw metals into specialised, high-integrity stainless steel and nickel-alloy components for industrial furnaces and high-temperature plant applications. The core mission was to provide durable, heat-resistant cast components that extend equipment life and ensure reliable performance in chemical processing, petrochemical and heavy-industrial environments. Over time that mission expanded toward bespoke engineering and export markets while retaining the foundational emphasis on metallurgical excellence.
Paralloy evolved from a specialist foundry into an integrated materials and manufacturing group offering design & engineering, centrifugal and static casting, and alloy solutions for global markets. The business expanded product lines (including nickel-based alloys), added engineering consultancy and end-to-end services, and broadened global reach, now exporting to over 40 countries. Recent strategic growth includes key partnerships with key industry bodies and acquisitions that strengthen its European capabilities and capacity. The company now markets under ‘The Paralloy Group’ and serves Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace, Turbines, Petrochemical (Including Ethylene, Ammonia, Hydrogen, Syngas, Methanol) and DRI/steel sectors.
